DJ Wayne skinner was moved by music from a very early age, and it has always been a very big part of his life.

While most kids his age were collecting GI Joe or baseball cards; he was already growing his vinyl collection featuring such artists as the Bee Gees, the Jackson 5, and any kind of disco records.  The heavy baselines, and smooth vocals of disco he enjoyed in his youth; led him to his love of house music.

One Christmas; while attending Stephen Leacock High School his father gave him  his first pair of Technics 1200s and a Gemini mixer. Over the next couple of years he spent countless hours perfecting his long blends and seamless transitions that he is known for today.

While joining the club circuit he became good friends with Ron Gibson, Kendall Marin, and Sanj Patel who were forming the premiere Toronto promotion company; Brighter Days.  Wayne became  one of their house DJs and is grateful to this day of all the exposure, and opportunities it afforded him.

Wayne has had the opportunity to play along side of some Toronto house legends including but not limited to Kevin Williams, Dave Campbell, JMK, Kevin Jazzy J, Cyruss Sanchez, Alvaro G, and Cullen Greaves.

Mr. Skinner’s biggest dance music influences are Masters at Work, Moodymann, Osunlade, Dennis Ferrer, Mr. V, Guerilla Science, and Nick Holder. But; it would not be uncommon to catch him spinning some of that old vinyl collection, or some Roy Ayers, Gil Scott Heron, and Al Green.

Wayne lives in Toronto with his beautiful wife Rhoda, and their little princess Quinn.
